Therapy For New Moms

Perinatal Therapy: Navigating Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Early Motherhood

Growing and birthing a baby is one of the most transformative experiences in life—but it can also be one of the most vulnerable.

This season is full of change, and for many it can feel overwhelming and lonely. Motherhood is often painted as the “happiest time of your life,” yet for many women, it’s not quite what they expected. The transition can bring unexpected grief—grief over how you thought it would be versus the overwhelming reality of what it actually feels like.

If any of this sounds familiar, please know you’re not alone. Keep reading to see if my perinatal therapy services might assist you.

  • I know how tough it can be when your schedule feels non-stop, and it’s hard to find time for yourself. But taking care of your mental health is just as important as caring for your baby. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Together, we’ll identify your needs and work on realistic ways to start meeting them. Whether it’s creating a balanced routine or carving out time for self-care, we’ll create a plan that feels possible and sustainable.

  • Becoming a parent often shifts the dynamics in your relationship with your partner, your family, and even yourself. Therapy can help you identify and communicate your needs, set boundaries, and address conflict in a healthy way. We’ll work together to strengthen your relationships and ensure you feel supported in all areas of your life.

  • The anxiety, sadness, and stress that often come with this time in your life are completely valid. I’ll help you explore the root causes of these emotions and provide practical tools to manage them. We’ll work together to develop strategies that can help you feel calmer and more grounded, so you can start feeling like yourself again—while embracing the changes motherhood brings.

  • Many women focus on preparing for their baby, but it’s just as important to plan for you—your emotional and mental well-being. Therapy can help you take a proactive approach to your mental health and create a self-care routine that works for you as a new mom and your family. Together, we’ll identify your biggest worries and work through them, helping you feel more prepared and supported.

  • For many women, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, or difficult past postpartum experiences are significant emotional challenges that can’t be ignored. I specialize in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help you process these difficult experiences, creating a healthier emotional foundation for future pregnancies and today. Whether you're struggling with unresolved trauma from past pregnancies or fears surrounding childbirth, we can work together to help you heal. You don’t have to carry these burdens alone.

Why I love working with new moms
